Cam Anh Nguyen is an illustrator and storyteller from Vietnam.
Cam enjoys working with traditional media, primarily using watercolor, gouache, ink, and colored pencils. After a few years of hard work in advertising and short films, she gradually transitioned into children’s book illustration, focusing on drawing picture books and learning how to write. She is a Recipient of the We Need Diverse Book Mentorship Program 2025 and a Recipient of the Highlight Foundation Kidlit Women Scholarship 2024.
Her creative inspiration comes from her nostalgic childhood memories, especially her mother’s diverse stamps brought home from work. These tiny pictures, each telling a story, marked her first encounter with visual storytelling.
Cam's work covers various themes, but she is consistently inspired by the human connection to nature—with a particular passion for illustrating biodiversity and wildlife—and the heritage that ties people to their communities. These themes are apparent in her collaboration with conservationists, animal protection and nature organizations, and artisans.
When she’s not painting, you can find her walking with her dog, Mun Moon, or playing with her three cats: Thi, Sún, and Cozy.
